In the spirit of Valentine's Day, I thought it would be appropriate to speak on this subject. I think this is a word that many of us still dont understand its true meaning.
The Bible tells us that "God is Love" (1 John 4:8) and Webster's Dictionary list many definitions for love, but the definition that best explained what it meant to me, described love as an "unselfish, loyal concern for the good of another." I think this one hit it right on the nail. When I think of love, it is never a selfish thought. There are few things in life I can say I unconditionally LOVE. I love God, my family, and close friends. However, I can only recall truly being "in love", once. Of course, loving someone and being in love is two different things; but when I think about being in love with someone, I see it as a feeling that never goes away. It's unconditional. Its a beautiful thing, but also a term that is thrown around loosely in our society.
So, I would like to end with some inspirational words (because I can talk on this subject all day). If you have found love, cherish it. Be secure in true love, because if it is unconditional love, it wont stray anyway. If you are looking for love, dont. Let it find you.
